How to convert an Excel sheet into a DigiTerra Map layer?

Postby Balazs Hober » Thu Jan 21, 2010 12:15 pm

It is a simple task in general, but if the source coordinates in the Excel sheet are mistyped (lot of random spaces everywhere) your life won't be too easy.

You need to apply something like this functions above in your Excel sheet:

Code: Select all

LONG
=VALUE(MID(SUBSTITUTE(B2;" ";"");2;2))+VALUE(MID(SUBSTITUTE(B2;" ";"");5;2))/60+(VALUE((MID(SUBSTITUTE(B2;" ";"");8;3))*6/100)/3600)
LAT
=VALUE(MID(SUBSTITUTE(B2;" ";"");12;2))+VALUE(MID(SUBSTITUTE(B2;" ";"");15;2))/60+(VALUE((MID(SUBSTITUTE(B2;" ";"");18;3))*6/100)/3600)

Take a look at the following video tutorial: http://digiterra.hu/distribution/attmts ... t-map.html
