Background map within the latest DigiTerra Explorer Version

Postby RSUWue » Thu May 26, 2011 4:15 pm

Dear All,

we are using DigiTerra Explorer 6 Professional software on three Trimble Juno (operating system: Windows Mobile).
The latest version ( is installed on one of them, the other two are running under version

I've downloaded an OpenStreetMap zip-file corresponding to the great video on the Youtube channel using the Mobile Atlas Creator.
Everything is doing quite well, but I'm missing the "Background Map" option in the File Menu within the latest version.
Within the latest desktop version, there are no problems in displaying a background map.

It would be great if anybody could provide me some help or a workaround for importing a background map.

Many thanks in advance and best regards,

I'm glad if the new feature is useful!

Visibility of the commands depends on what is the (used).mnu file contains... (default file is: default.mnu)
Where the emnu definition file contains a line with "BGMAP" word, you will see the icon.
(In PC, you can customize the toolbar too, with your own .tbr file.)

Open the file with any text editor:
"c:\Users\<YOUR USER NAME>\Documents\DigiTerra Explorer\Default.mnu"

Where you can find the Offline map menu, you will find the BGMAP word - for example:
If you wolud like use the BGMAP menu in your device, you can
- Copy this file from your PC to your Device:
SD Card\Bin\Default.mnu
Or another file name - you can change your menu file in the Settings --> System tab.
>> See the online manual topic: ... system.htm

- Or, simply, open this file in your device with NotePad, and type a new line and BGMAP text.

Hi Carina,

The simpliest way is to uninstall your current version and just re-install the latest version after you downloaded it from our website.

Please, let me know if there is anything I can help.
