Using a TXT file as a Digiterra Layer

Postby Englishman » Fri Mar 13, 2009 5:51 pm

First of all the txt file must have an Easting and Northing Column somewhere in the spread sheet.

Create a Folder on the PC and add the txt file into it.
Go into Digiterra then open the layers interface
Touch the Green Cross ( Add Layer )
Navigate to the folder you created and Select the txt file.

Now go into the Records Interface
Select the Easting item and make sure it is set to

Name      Easting
Type       Float(4)
Width   10   Decimal Places 3
Default  Easting Coordinate
Rule        None
OK

Select the Northing item and make sure it is set to

Name      Northing
Type       Float(4)
Width   10   Decimal Places 3
Default  Northing Coordinate
Rule        None
OK

Select the Date item and make sure it is set to

Name      Date
Type       Date(4)
Width   10   Decimal Places 0
Default  Creation Time
Rule        None
OK

When you are happy that all the fields are correctly configured
go back into the Layer interface, and select the Source button

Select the down arrow at the X position Field and pick the Easting Column
Select the down arrow at the Y position Field and pick the Northing Column
Now select OK

Now go into the Save As and save your layer as a MAP - DigiTerra layer

You can use this layer as a normal Digiterra Layer, which means you can use the GPS point change function.

Return to “DigiTerra Explorer 5”
