KML files created with DigiTerra

Postby jamesengland » Thu Jan 22, 2015 12:28 am

Hi am coming across several users who have compiled their data collection projects to a Google Earth KML and have then either reset or wiped the device leaving only the KML file. Is there anyway to get a KML file that has been created in DigiTerra back to a GIS layer with the attributes. Currently there isnt as often the files when loaded back in to DigiTerra they dont show the full attributes like it does in Google Earth.

I have produced some scripts but its fairly extensive and it would be helpful if DigiTerra can display the same info as Google Earth for a given kml/kmz file.

Thanks

Hi James,

Sorry for the late reply, but we have to move this forum from the previous hosting provider to a new one and I haven't received notification about this question.

Basically it should work on the following way

1. Open the KML in Explorer 7 Professional
2. Go to Layers panel
3. Select all layers
4. Then choose Batch export or you can also export the layers one by one.

Please also have a look at to see what the new KML export can do currently in the latest beta version: viewtopic.php?f=61&p=1960#p1960

If you have any further question please do not hesitate to contact us.
